Jesus Is…

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1). And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). He is eternal (John 8:58 NLT): “Jesus said, I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am.” He is unchangeable (immutable): Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He is creator: Through Him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16 NLT).
There is one God the Father, by whom all things were created and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live (I Corinthians 8:6). He existed before anything else and He holds all creation together (Col. 1:17 NLT). He never sinned or deceived anyone (I Peter 2:22 NLT). He is redeemer:  For Jesus came to take away our sins and there is no sin in Him (I John 3:5 NLT). He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him and by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 NLT). You see, there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind-the man Christ Jesus (I Timothy 2:5 NIV). And the Son of man came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10 NIV).
Because He lives forever, His priesthood lasts forever. Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on our behalf (Hebrews 7:24,25 NLT). For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him (John 3:17 NIV). If you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord”  and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9 NIV). For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).
Though He is above us in every way, Jesus is relational: Now this is eternal life- that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (John 17:3 NIV). For God our Savior desires for all people everywhere to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (I Timothy 2:4 NIV). Everyone is invited, no one is turned away.
Oh what a Savior! Oh what a friend!
